Old Bardstown 101 Proof Estate Bourbon

Old Bardstown's 101 Proof Estate Bourbon is a testament to Kentucky's renowned distilling tradition. With its substantial 50.5% ABV, this bourbon delivers a powerful yet refined drinking experience that stands out in the world of American whiskey. Crafted from a meticulously chosen mash bill, this bourbon embodies the essence of rich grains and age-old expertise, resulting in a spirit that captivates both newcomers and seasoned aficionados alike. When poured, the 101 Proof Estate Bourbon reveals a deep amber hue, hinting at the depth of flavor within. On the nose, expect an intriguing blend of oak and vanilla, accompanied by a gentle whisper of charred wood, suggestive of its time spent maturing in carefully selected barrels. The first sip introduces a harmonious blend of sweetness and spice, with notes of caramel and toasted grain intertwined with a peppery kick that lingers on the palate. This balance of flavors makes it an exceptional choice for those who appreciate a bourbon with depth and nuance. While this bourbon can be savored neat or with a splash of water to open up its complex flavors, serving it on the rocks allows the spirit to mellow slightly, revealing subtler notes of honey and perhaps a touch of dried fruit. For cocktail enthusiasts, Old Bardstown's 101 Proof Estate is a versatile base, perfectly suited for classic concoctions such as the Old Fashioned or a robust Manhattan, where its bold character can shine through against bitters and vermouth. To fully appreciate its aromatic bouquet, a Glencairn glass is recommended for nosing, while a sturdy rocks glass makes an ideal partner for sipping. Whether enjoyed during a quiet evening or as the centerpiece of a crafted cocktail, this bourbon offers an authentic taste of Kentucky's rich whiskey heritage.
