Cask strength means the whiskey is bottled at or close to the strength it came out of the barrel, without being diluted with water to bring it down. That generally gives a more concentrated, higher-proof pour than a standard bottling.

Bourbon is made from a grain mix that must be at least 51 percent corn. A high rye bourbon uses more rye in that mix than usual, which generally gives a spicier, drier character than a bourbon that leans on wheat or more corn.

A finish means the whiskey spent extra time in a different cask after its main aging, such as one that held sherry. That extra time can add flavor from the earlier contents of the cask on top of the rye character.
