Clown Shoes Space Cake

Dive into the bold universe of Clown Shoes Space Cake, an Imperial IPA hailing from Massachusetts that promises to deliver an assertive yet harmonious punch to the palate. Clocking in at a robust 9.0% ABV and with an IBU of 90, this beer stands out with its formidable hop character, making it a quintessential choice for those who appreciate the intensity of a Double IPA. The hops in Space Cake are unapologetically forward, offering a vibrant bouquet of tropical fruit and citrus aromas that greet you with every sip, while the underlying caramel malt adds a subtle sweetness that rounds out the bitterness, creating a balanced finish. Best served chilled at a temperature between 45-50°F, Space Cake is ideal for highlighting its layered complexity. Pour it into a tulip glass to fully appreciate its aromatic profile, allowing the wider body of the glass to capture the rich scents, while the narrowed top concentrates the aroma for your enjoyment. The tulip glass also enhances the beer's head retention, preserving the frothy cap that is characteristic of well-crafted IPAs. When it comes to pairing, Space Cake’s bold flavors make it a versatile companion on the dining table. The beer's hop-driven intensity pairs beautifully with spicy foods, such as buffalo wings or a well-seasoned curry, where its bitterness can cut through the heat, refreshing the palate between bites. For those who prefer something milder, try coupling it with a sharp cheddar or a blue cheese, where the maltiness can complement the rich, creamy textures. In summary, Clown Shoes Space Cake is not just an IPA; it’s an experience that underscores the creativity and craftsmanship typical of New England's spirited brewing scene. Whether you're a hophead seeking your next favorite brew or a culinary explorer looking to elevate your food pairing game, Space Cake stands ready to deliver a delightfully intense journey with every pour.
