J Lohr Pure Paso Red Blend

Pure Paso Red Blend by J. Lohr offers a compelling expression of Paso Robles' renowned viticulture, beautifully marrying the bold essence of Cabernet Sauvignon with the lush suppleness of Petite Sirah. With an ABV of 14.5%, this wine presents a harmonious balance of power and elegance. Expect a tapestry of flavors where the dark fruit character of black currants and ripe plums intertwines seamlessly with hints of cocoa, creating a luxurious mouthfeel that is further enriched by a touch of spice. The body of Pure Paso is full, yet it maintains an inviting smoothness, thanks to the Petite Sirah's contribution. The tannins are firm yet not overpowering, promising a delightful structure that will keep evolving as you savor the bottle. A moderate acidity ensures that each sip is refreshing, while the subtle oak influence adds depth without overshadowing the fruit. When it comes to pairing, this red blend shines alongside hearty dishes. Consider it a perfect companion to a grilled ribeye, lamb chops, or even a rich mushroom risotto. For cheese lovers, it pairs beautifully with aged cheddar or gouda, enhancing the wine's complex flavor profile. Serving this wine at around 60–65°F will allow its flavors to fully express themselves, and a short decanting period can help open up the aromas and soften the tannins, offering a more rounded experience. Ideally served in a Bordeaux glass to concentrate its aromatic bouquet, Pure Paso Red Blend is crafted for those who appreciate immediate enjoyment but also promises potential for aging. Over time, expect the wine to develop further nuances, rewarding those who choose to cellar it for a few years. Whether exploring it now or laying it down for future enjoyment, Pure Paso Red Blend showcases the artistry and distinctive terroir of Paso Robles.
