Description
Ayinger Maibock is a springtime staple, hailing from the heart of Bavaria, Germany. As a traditional strong blonde lager, it stands out with its delightful harmony of malt sweetness and a hint of warming alcohol. With an ABV of 7% and an IBU of 30, this Maibock is characteristically smooth, presenting a balanced profile that showcases the sweet, bready malt flavors typical of the style, accented by a subtle undertone of bitterness that adds complexity without overpowering the palate. Perfectly suited for leisurely sipping as the seasons shift, Ayinger Maibock pairs elegantly with a range of meals. Its malt-forward character complements savory dishes such as roast pork or hearty sausages, while also providing a pleasing contrast to the tang of sharp cheeses. Those who enjoy a sweeter pairing might find it harmonizes beautifully with desserts like apple strudel, where the beer’s gentle sweetness melds with spiced fruit notes. For optimal enjoyment, serve Ayinger Maibock chilled to a temperature between 45 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit. This allows the nuanced flavors and aromas to come through without the chill muting its malty richness. The ideal vessel for this beer is a tulip glass; its shape concentrates the aroma at the top while allowing room for the creamy head to form, enhancing the tasting experience. Whether enjoyed in the quiet of your home or shared among friends, the Ayinger Maibock offers a taste of Bavarian tradition with each sip. Its balance and depth make it a distinguished choice for anyone interested in exploring the rich tapestry of German brewing heritage.
Customer reviews
Grabbed Ayinger Maibock instead of my usual Spaten lager. Little bit sweeter and heavier, definitely more kick from the 7 percent. Good but think I still like Spaten a bit more for summer grilling nights.
Response from CBC Liquors, Westford
Ayinger is bolder for sure, but if you want lighter next time, Gaffel or even Weihenstephaner might hit closer to your usual.
