Description
Ground Breaker's IPA No 5 is a testament to the ever-evolving world of craft beer, providing a unique twist on the traditional IPA. Hailing from Oregon, this gluten-free specialty IPA is brewed with a meticulously curated selection of gluten-free ingredients, offering a beer experience that is both distinctive and approachable. With an ABV of 6.0% and an IBU of 50, IPA No 5 finds a harmonious balance between its hop-forward character and a satisfyingly crisp finish. The flavor profile of IPA No 5 is defined by its bold hop presence, which is expected in the IPA category, but it also surprises with a smooth drinkability that sets it apart. Those who appreciate a well-crafted IPA will recognize the familiar notes of citrus and pine, which are complemented by a subtle malt backbone that keeps the bitterness in check. This careful balance results in a beer that is both refreshing and full-bodied, making it a favorite among both seasoned IPA lovers and those new to the style. When it comes to serving IPA No 5, the nuances of its flavor are best appreciated when served at a temperature of around 45-50°F. This temperature range allows the hoppy aromas to flourish while maintaining the beer's crispness. Pour it into a tulip or an IPA glass to capture its aromatic bouquet and to showcase its vibrant color and effervescence. For pairing, consider foods that can stand up to the beer's robust flavors without overwhelming them. Spicy cuisine, such as Thai or Mexican dishes, can accentuate the IPA's hoppy notes, while grilled meats bring out its subtle malt sweetness. Cheese lovers might enjoy it alongside a sharp cheddar or a tangy blue cheese, both of which can create a delightful contrast with the beer's bitterness. Whether you're enjoying a meal or sipping solo, IPA No 5 offers a refreshing and flavorful craft beer experience.

Shared a couple cans with my wife after dinner. She usually avoids IPAs but liked this more than most. Solid for a weeknight, maybe a touch sharp for her though.

Starts out easy but definitely kicked in fast. Stronger than it lets on for a gluten-free brew. Good backyard beer, just sip slower than you think.
