Ommegang Brewery Festbier

Ommegang Brewery's Festbier offers a spirited rendition of the classic Märzen-style lager that pays homage to the time-honored brews of Germany's famed Oktoberfest. With an approachable 5.5% ABV and a balanced IBU of 25, this specialty beer captures the essence of festivity in a glass. Its amber hue hints at a delicate interplay between malt sweetness and gentle hop bitterness, creating a harmonious profile. Expect notes of toasted bread and a subtle caramel undertone, with just enough floral hop character to round out the finish. This Festbier is best enjoyed with hearty fare that complements its robust flavor. Traditional pairings such as pretzels, sausages, and schnitzel enhance its malty depth, while its crisp finish can cut through the richness of a creamy cheese dip or a plate of roasted pork. For those looking to explore beyond classic Oktoberfest dishes, consider pairing it with grilled vegetables or a charred chicken dish to highlight its versatility. To fully appreciate the nuances of Ommegang's Festbier, serve it at a temperature between 45-50°F. This range allows the beer's aromas and flavors to open up without sacrificing its refreshing qualities. Pour it into a traditional dimpled mug or a stein, which not only honors the style's heritage but also provides an ideal vessel for its lively carbonation and frothy head. Whether celebrating Oktoberfest or simply in the mood for a seasonal delight, this Festbier delivers an authentic taste of autumnal revelry.
