Escuso Rojo Carmenere

Expect a bold expression of Chilean winemaking in Escuso Rojo's Carmenere, a red wine that showcases the hallmark traits of its grape variety. Grown in the sun-drenched Central Valley, this Carmenere captures a wealth of ripe, dark fruit flavors, enriched by subtle notes of spice. With an ABV of 13.5%, it boasts a substantial body without overwhelming the palate, offering a smooth, lingering finish that invites further exploration. This Carmenere is best savored at a slightly cooler room temperature, around 60-65°F (15-18°C), which accentuates its rich fruit profile and balanced acidity. Decanting for about 30 minutes can help open up the wine, allowing its complex aromas to fully develop. Pour it into a wide-bowled glass to enhance the bouquet and experience the wine's depth more vividly. Food pairings with Escuso Rojo's Carmenere are both versatile and rewarding. Its structured tannins and spicy undertones complement a range of dishes, from grilled meats and hearty stews to spicy sausages and rich, tomato-based pasta. Consider pairing it with roasted vegetables or a smoky barbecue to highlight its earthy elements. While this wine is delicious now, it possesses the potential to age gracefully for a few years, developing more nuanced flavors over time.
