Description
Newcastle Brown Ale is an amber brown ale from Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, at 4.7% ABV and 18 IBU. It has caramel and nutty malt notes, a gentle bitterness and a smooth finish, so it works as both a nut brown ale and an amber ale. Serve it slightly chilled at 50 to 55°F in a nonic pint glass. Its malty backbone suits a range of dishes. You can get Newcastle Brown Ale from CBC Liquors in Westford in store, for pickup or by delivery.
Customer reviews
Brought these to a backyard cookout on Memorial Day. Most folks finished theirs, nobody raved about it either though. Middle of the road.
Response from CBC Liquors, Westford
Cookout beers are tough to please everyone with. If you want something a little different for next time, give Old Speckled Hen a shot.
Had a few Newcastles with my cousin while watching the Sox game. It's fine but pretty average, not much stood out for either of us.
Response from CBC Liquors, Westford
Glad you gave it a shot for the game night. If you want something with a bit more kick next time, try the Sam Smith Nut Brown.
Had it cold in a pint glass with burgers last night. Smooth, kind of nutty, pretty easy drinking brown ale but not super heavy. Would get again for weeknight dinners.
Response from CBC Liquors, Westford
Burgers and Newcastle go together well. Next time maybe try it with fish and chips too.
