Description

New Grist Pilsner by Lakefront Brewery is a refreshing take on the classic pilsner, crafted with a thoughtful touch for those seeking gluten-free options. Hailing from Wisconsin, this beer is an inviting choice with its modest 5.1% ABV and a gentle bitterness marked by an IBU of 15. Its composition, featuring sorghum and rice, diverges from the conventional barley base, offering a distinctive flavor profile that is both light and invigorating. Expect a clean and crisp experience, where the subtle sweetness of sorghum harmonizes with the mild earthiness of rice, resulting in a smooth, refreshing finish. This gluten-free pilsner maintains a pale golden hue and delivers a delicate effervescence, making it an appealing option for those who appreciate subtlety in taste without the gluten. Its easy-drinking nature is further accentuated by a refreshing mouthfeel, ideal for those moments when you crave an uncomplicated yet satisfying beer choice. For an optimal tasting experience, serve New Grist Pilsner at a chilled temperature of around 38°F (3°C) to highlight its crispness and subtle flavors. A classic pilsner glass will enhance its aromatic qualities and carbonation, allowing the beer’s unique character to shine through. This versatile gluten-free pilsner pairs beautifully with lighter fare, such as grilled chicken or seafood, making it a fitting companion for summer barbecues and casual gatherings. Whether you're exploring gluten-free options or simply in search of a well-crafted pilsner, New Grist offers a refreshing departure from the ordinary. Its clean profile and gentle flavors invite you to enjoy every sip, providing a satisfying and inclusive beer experience.

Brought some to a BBQ since one of our friends cant do regular beer anymore. Ended up grabbing another bottle myself, goes down easier than most gf brews.

Always good to have something everyone can drink at the cookout. If you're ever after something similar but with a different twist, check out Green's Amber next time. - Tom

Surprisingly smooth for a gluten-free beer. Had two with some spicy pad thai and it went down super easy. Just a bit thinner than regular pilsners but definitely refreshing.

    Store response

Glad you liked the New Grist with your pad thai. If you ever want something with a little more body, give Ground Breaker IPA a shot.

Had it in the fridge for my roommate who has celiac, she was pumped. I tried a can too but not really for me, just tasted kind of thin. She finished off the pack though.

    Store response

Appreciate you giving New Grist a shot anyway. Next time you're in, maybe check out Omission Lager or Glutenberg Blonde if you want to try another gluten-free option. - Dan
