Description

Bordeaux Saint by Jacques de Siran is a testament to the esteemed winemaking heritage of the Bordeaux region. This French red wine encapsulates the essence of a classic Bordeaux blend, known for its sophisticated integration of diverse grape varieties. With a 13.5% ABV, it presents a beautifully balanced structure that is both approachable and complex. Expect a palate filled with deep, rich flavors, where the fruits are elegantly layered, offering whispers of ripe berries and subtle plum notes. The wine's body is medium to full, supported by well-integrated tannins that lend it a smooth yet sturdy mouthfeel. Its acidity is well-calibrated, providing a refreshing lift that balances the richness of the fruit. As is typical with Bordeaux blends, a touch of oak can be discerned, adding depth and a hint of spiciness to the overall profile. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving a lasting impression of warmth and subtle earthiness. Serving Bordeaux Saint at the right temperature will enhance its multifaceted character. Aim for around 60 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit; a slight chill will allow the wine's nuances to unfurl gradually. Decanting for about 30 minutes prior to serving can also help in aerating the wine, softening its tannins, and unlocking more of its aromatic potential. Opt for a Bordeaux glass, which will direct the wine to the center of your palate, emphasizing its balance and depth. This wine stands as an excellent companion to a variety of dishes. Its robust yet refined flavors make it an ideal match for roasted meats, particularly lamb or beef, and its acidity complements dishes rich in umami, such as mushroom risotto or aged cheeses. Whether enjoyed now for its vibrant fruitiness or laid down for a few years to develop further complexity, Bordeaux Saint by Jacques de Siran promises an authentic taste of French winemaking craft.

Went in thinking it would be thin and was surprised how full it tasted with my roast chicken. Really nice bottle for under fifteen bucks.

Snuck up on me after a second glass. Was not expecting Bordeaux Saint to feel that strong for the price.

It does have a little punch for something this smooth. If you like bolder reds, Chateau Haut Vigneau could be worth a look next time.
